Online Chat Rooms

Chat room is a term basically used to describe all the forms of synchronous conferencing and even asynchronous conferencing by mass media. This term can therefore be used to describe the many forms of technology ranging from instant messaging and online chat to online forums. These rooms are part of a website or online service, which provides a site where the subscribers of that online service having common interests can chat in real-time. In comparison, the online discussion groups and forums allow their users to make comments but does not offer the users a real-time communication service. Many of these rooms do not require a special software to use them and the ones that do give the users access to download it.

If you want to join a room as a new user, you have to register, but in the room of your choice by choosing a unique user name and password and then you can log into a chat room. Generally, in these rooms, there are people who are online and they are notified the moment another person enters that particular chat room. For a user to chat, the user has to type a message into a text box and once it’s uploaded, the message is visible to every user who is online and is a member of that particular room. All the users who will log into that room can view the messages and they may choose to comment on it or not.

On a site, there can be hundreds and hundreds of chat rooms and each room can focus on any aspect of human interests. Basically, the users of each room have something in common that’s why they log into that particular chat room.
